Young CNC Engineering Apprentice earns recognition for exceptional contributions at Marlor, showcasing skill and dedication that promise a bright career in engineering.

At just 17 years old, Zane Mattick, CNC Engineering Apprentice at Marlor Tooling, continues to demonstrate exceptional skill and dedication in his role. This month, Zane was awarded a certificate of recognition for his exceptional contributions to the business, an impressive milestone in what is sure to be a bright engineering career.

The recognition followed a nomination from his mentor, Dan Mucklin, who highlighted Zane’s commitment, rapid skill development, and positive attitude since joining the team.  Dan’s nomination was shared with Peterborough College, where it caught the attention of senior apprenticeship leaders.

Among those who reviewed Zane’s story were Group Director of Apprenticeships and Group Apprenticeship Delivery Manager. Both were deeply impressed by the standard of work Zane has already achieved and the enthusiasm he brings to the workshop floor.

This acknowledgment not only reflects Zane’s personal efforts but also the strength of the apprenticeship programme and the support around him.

Zane continues to demonstrate that age is no barrier to excellence. From operating CNC machines to supporting live production improvements, his contributions have been recognised and valued throughout the business.
