Our Heritage

Marlor Tooling is a second generation, family business based in its modern factory and offices on the outskirts of Peterborough, in Cambridgeshire, UK.

1970 - Company Founded

In the heart of Cambridgeshire, on the flourishing outskirts of Peterborough, stands the modern facility of Marlor Tooling, a testament to the enduring legacy of a business that began its journey in 1970. Founded by George Taylor, Marlor Tooling emerged from humble beginnings to establish itself as a beacon of innovation and manufacturing excellence.

1990 - CNC Grinding

From the outset, Marlor Tooling was driven by a vision to redefine productivity standards within the industry. By 1990, this vision had crystallised into tangible progress with the introduction of the first Walter CNC grinding machine, setting new benchmarks in precision tooling.

2001 - Inspection

The turn of the millennium saw Marlor Tooling embrace technological advancement once again with the acquisition of the Helicheck optical measuring machine in 2001, ensuring their tools met the highest standards of accuracy and quality. This relentless pursuit of excellence was later recognised in 2015 when Marlor Tooling achieved ISO 9001/14001 accreditation, a nod to their uncompromising commitment to quality management systems.

2013 - New Factory

Amidst these milestones, 2013 marked a pivotal moment in Marlor Tooling's history as they expanded their operations into a new, purpose-built facility at 3 Maxwell Road. This new home not only provided state-of-the-art facilities but also room to grow and innovate.

2015 - Quality

The relentless pursuit of excellence was later recognised in 2015 when Marlor Tooling achieved ISO 9001/14001 accreditation, a nod to their uncompromising commitment to quality management systems.

2021 - Smart Factory

Implementing the ANCA AIMS integrated manufacturing system in a smart factory revolutionises traditional methods. Through machine intelligence, it optimises production, enhances quality, and fosters innovation.
